Wave 2 Proofs & Shipping in 3 Weeks

Hello again everyone! I got our print proofs for the wave 2 print run yesterday, and I'm extraordinarily relieved to see how well they turned out. I previously changed printers in the middle of this as the cost of paper went up significantly, and the printer we were working with pulled some shenanigans that I wasn't impressed with. When I shopped around, I was able to do more for less with another printer!
Have a look at these. The gilded edges are absolutely amazing! I can't wait to get these in your hands. Technically, these are production samples, and not proofs. We are well into production with the book, and at last discussion, we should be getting the books here in about 3 more weeks with shipping to all of you to follow immediately.
I'll keep you all posted as we get closer to the date.
Wave 2 Printing Update

Hey everyone! I've just received an update from our printer:
"Production samples are slated for shipping out next Wednesday. The bulk order should be ready to ship by the 31st."
So, what does that mean for all of you?
I'll have another update when the production samples arrive to show off the new wave 2 print books. From there, the printer is shipping the books to us on August 31st, so we probably won't see them for a couple weeks thereafter. I'll anticipate shipping all remaining orders mid to late September. I'm summoning an army of helpers to move all the orders as fast as possible.
Wave 1 Books - Get your pledge now! <100 copies left.
For those that previously asked for the wave 1 books, you should have them already. If you are still interested in getting your book sooner than later and are fine with the wave 1 books (no gold page edging), feel free to message me here and I'll ship them out. There are probably only about 100 left, so if you want your pledge ASAP, that's an option.
Customer Service
I'm woefully behind on a number of people's messages. Please note that I'll get through them all and get you all taken care of, but it's taking me some time. Given this is our first time working with Backerkit, there have been plenty of learning opportunities.
More to come then in a couple of weeks! I look forward to showing off the wave 2 production samples. Thank you all again for your patience and support. We are getting the book we wanted without compromise on quality.

Wave 2 Books are Printing! Wave 1 Shipping Now!

Hey folks!
I wanted to reach out today with an update now that I have some actual updated information. Our new printer has accepted the files and will be printing our wave 2 version. Let me quick explain the difference between wave 1 and wave 2. Wave 1 was the first run, a short run test batch. They printed great, but we ultimately chose a different printer for the full Kickstarter print run because they were able to do some great things - including a gold gilding on the page edges and shrink wrapping. Those are the books we are waiting for to deliver backers. That timeline as of yet has not changed from the timeline previously posted.
Now *if* you don't care about getting the special gilded pages and you just want a copy now, I can ship a number of the wave 1 books immediately. You can direct message me here on Kickstarter (I may not see comments) and I'll ship them out in order of request while supplies last. I have a few hundred left.
As we are awaiting printing updates now, it may be a few weeks before I post another update as I won't have any new information. But when I do, I'll let you all know. In the meantime, I'll be shipping the Wave 1 requests. I'm also working through all the other requests - please be patient. I will get to you as soon as I can. Thank you!

Backerkit Cards Charged; Major Print Run Started

Hi everyone! If you have been following along with the timeline listed in Backerkit, you'll see that we just recently charged all the shipping costs and gave everyone a month to update their pledges, order addons, etc. Please understand that even if you paid immediately for shipping with Paypal, we aren't shipping just yet and we only just charged the credit cards. For those of you who have sent in questions, help requests, or commented, I'm working diligently on getting back to you. Please be patient and understand there's 2500 of you, and one of me.
The major print run has been paid for and ordered. We did a minor test run previously, just to ensure the printer's level of quality, and now are getting the major full run done now that we have the total number of books plus addons determined. As you can see, we added some cool features to the book, such as shrink wrap (to keep your book as pristine as possible during shipping and avoid moisture to keep the pages from rippling) and my final personal touch, golden gilded edges. This is a premium book and as my final thanks, we added that incredible touch to the book's production. It looks amazing and I can't wait to share that with you all.
So what's next? I will be working on getting all the shipping supplies, addons and other items ready while the final run is being printed over the next couple of months. I'll have everything ready to ship prior to the books arriving, and when they do I will be shipping them out ASAP. I'm told the print run could be 9-10 weeks when combining printing and shipping times, hence the August deadline. However, if they arrive faster, you'll see them sooner.
Foreign backers: I'm still working with some other shipping agents to try to reduce the costs. With the cost of fuel so high right now, it's the absolute worst time to send overseas shipping, and because we have addons, I don't have the luxury of sending a crate of books to a European partner. I will however, find the best price possible, and refund any additional shipping costs that were charged. We also have several better solutions for future products that are unfortunately not available for this project.
Chromium Dice Addons: For those of you who added funds wanting the Chromium dragon dice, please go ahead and add those funds to the tip jar. Then message me with your name and backer number, and I'll add that to your order. I couldn't put the dice set out as a pledge item because of the limited supply. Others who didn't "pre-order" it would eat up the ones we have reserved from the initial Kickstarter. Now that I know the backerkit system, we won't mess around with that sort of thing again in the future, and I apologize for the headache there.
So thank you all again for your patience as we get through all of this. Our previous products were much easier to produce, so there was a good amount of learning involved through a project of this size. In the future, we'll have our process much tighter. Still, I think you all will be wowed when you see the books. The KS backer edition book is an amazing product, and it's thanks to all of you for making it happen!

Backerkit Pledge Manager is live to 5%

Hey everyone! More news here in rapid succession as we are nearly at the end of this thing! Our pledge manager page is completely tweaked and approved, so our first step is a "smoke test" out to 5% of the backers. Those of you who receive an email should be good to go in, approve your address and pledge, add on anything else you'd like and we'll be good to go.
The remainder of you will see pledge emails forthcoming this week as I launch pledge categories. Again, thank you all for your patience, the final product is amazing and we couldn't have done it without you!
